Lina supported the rest of the cohort with fantastic feedback and mentorship. She was working on a few pieces at one point and used the opportunity of THE ECCO to develop them further.
A multi-award winning London-based audio indie, run by former Channel 4 factual commissioning editor Lina Prestwood, Scenery Studios craft shows that bring out the best in humanity, one download at a time.
Before setting up shop, she made racists furious by putting the call to prayer live on Channel 4 every day during Ramadan, launched UN elder Mary Robinson’s climate justice podcast, Mothers of Invention and held senior and consultancy roles at VICE, The Guardian and Al Gore’s Current TV. Scenery have produced shows for Headspace, the Financial Times, Creative Blood, Newton Europe and are currently developing shows with Somerset House and the AKO Storytelling Institute on narrative impact.
In 2021 Scenery devised and produced The Long Time Academy which was described as “the best climate content I’ve engaged with… possibly ever” by the head of Greenhouse PR. The show inspired organic listening circles across the globe, a new course on an economics masters course, and saw the Canadian government service reach out to the host to give a masterclass on better ancestors to 1000 of its civil servants.
Our underlying belief is that far from being window dressing, art and culture forms the operating systems of our world; it has the power to shift our collective identity. Culture doesn’t just reflect societal norms, it has the power to change, iterate and manifest new ones.
Lina Prestwood is an active member of Just Stop Oil and stands firm in her belief that Beverly Hills is the best of the Housewives franchises.
