FOR BEIRUT, FOR LINDA
by MARTINA POUCHLÁ (in CZECH & ARABIC)

Linda can´t remember a language, and her mother can't forget a melody

Martina’s first moment on air came at the age of seven, when she phoned her local radio station to guess the name of a song. She won a pizza — but more importantly, she had just discovered a passion for radio that would stay with her for life.

While at university, she practically lived in the Radio R studio, where she hosted shows and later became program director. Today, she works as a spoken-word editor at Czech Radio. Her audio work have earned recognition at Prix Bohemia and the Åke Blomström Award, and have also been nominated for Prix Europa.

Martina is the founder of AudioCafé, a collective listening project at Masaryk University, and she’s based in Brno, Czech Republic.
